FRIDAY OCT 24
Hi everyone,
Well, unfortunately the Galaxy won’t be playing in the playoffs this season. We tried our best, but maybe we lacked a bit of quality or luck when we really needed it. Going forward we haven’t struggled to score goals, but the fact is we did concede too many. That’s not a criticism of the defence though as I think we need to defend and attack as a team.
Obviously, I was disappointed to be suspended for the last game against Houston Dynamo. It was a tough match against the MLS winners of the past two seasons, but I thought the team worked hard and it was frustrating not to be able to play a part and try and help in some way.
On Monday the club held the Galaxy Foundation golf day, which helps raise money for the Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation and is dedicated in giving back to the community. I’m not really a golfer but it’s such a worthwhile day – I even managed to hit a few balls myself in the three-hole playoff with my Galaxy team-mate Alan Gordon. After the golf there was an auction to raise more money for the Foundation so it was a very productive day.
We have FC Dallas at the Home Depot Center on Sunday in our final game of the season and although it will, unfortunately, be our last in the MLS for this year, the whole team will want to put on a good performance to give the fans something positive to remember the season by.
Until next week…
David
